Story
Education for the Children - only through education can we break the poverty cycle.
In 2009 the Guatemalan Government declared that education should be made free to all.
Although this is great news, the country currently does not have the infrastructure in place to provide education to everyone. Shortage of schools, overcrowded classrooms plus the cost of books, uniforms and food means that for many families education is still be an impossibility, and something that many of us in the UK take for granted.
The EFTC project continues to fill a gap for the poorest section of the community and it is clear that they are still very much needed. They will continue to be involved in helping Guatemala to provide free education for all and they hope that the Guatemalan Government will begin to help more of the poorest sectors of the community

I am going to do a Sky Dive on the 18th September in order to raise money for this charity at Langer Airfield. I have supported this small charity for a number of years, and you can really see how the money helps. The money you help me raise will help these kids get fed, as well educate them allowing future generations to escape from the severe poverty they endure. As I am sure many of you will recall, I did a similar fund raiser last year for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (see the photos!) raising money to help with research, campaigning, support and care for those with Cystic Fibrosis and resulted in a donation of £2700. This was only possible due to everyone's very kind donations and support, and I am hoping this jump will be as successful. £2700 would provide enough to money to:
Feed the whole primary school nutritious food for a month (that's 275 children who would otherwise go hungry.
Pay for a family of 5 children who are living in foster care for 6 months.
Pay a junior teacher's salary for a year.
I am also going to complete this Sky Dive in Fancy Dress, with the costume being kindly donated by Limelight Fancy Dress of Ampthill, Beds, the perfect place for all your costume needs! www.limelightfancydress.com So please dig deep and donate now.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
