Story
Hey guys and girls,
I am running my first ever Cardiff half-marathon (13 miles) on 17th October 2010. The reason for running such a long and tiring event is for a charitable cause that is 'Mothers of Africa.' I am trying to raise funds and would appreciate all the help I can get. So please dig deep and donate.
The aim of the charity is to relieve sickness and preserve the health of people in africa. The charity primarily focusses on child-bearing mothers and their babies. It's aim is to provide training to healthcare professionals and provide equipment to support such training. Since the charity was set-up in 2005, volunteers have helped develop and deliver training in 4 countries- Benin, Togo, Ethiopia and Liberia.
The simple facts are that 747 mothers die in childbirth every single day in Africa and it is upto us to make a contribution and help in anyway possible to make a difference and change people's lives.
I have never ran more than 6km's in my life so it is a new challenge for me and one that I am relishing. I have been training hard and am extremely determined. I would really appreciate any donation you can give to this charity.
'For mother's sake the child was dear,
and dearer was the mother for the child.'
- Samuel Taylor Coleridge, English poet

Mohit
