I am taking part in the Hull 10K to raise funds and awareness for The Hull Children's University. 

A little about the Charity...

Currently over 16,000 children in our city are living in poverty and these children may not have access to the opportunities that other children may receive. Many of these children have never left Hull and some have never even ventured into the city centre. We strongly believe that ALL children should get to see beyond the end of their street and experience the world around them. We strive to help children believe that they can achieve their dreams and we give them the confidence to try. We believe that every child is intelligent in different ways; they just need to opportunity to discover their hidden talents and ignite their aspirations for the future.

Hull Children's University provide learning experiences for children who would otherwise never get a chance to take part in them. Being an inclusive organisation, They take full classes of children on "experiences" and they're very proud to say that they're currently working with over 80% of the primary schools in the city and 30% of secondary schools. Whether it is a trip to London to have a sleepover under the dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum or if it is visiting a local business to learn about that industry, all children leave these experiences happy, excited and with new aspirations that they will hopefully carry with them into adulthood. Hull Children's University aim to put the fire into their bellies that will help them to succeed!
