Story
On the 24th July 2010, my son and I joined other volunteeers to face the 3 Peaks 24hr Challenge for Islamic Relief's Orphans Campaign.
We did it.....and my 14 year old son really taught me a thing or two about fitness!!
A great day with great people raising money for a great cause.
Father and son were both a bit slow off the mark in fundraising though....and so I have pledged to do what it takes to meet our fundraising target of £1,500.
I am therefore entering the Leicester Marathon on the 10th October 2010 (let's say the 3 Peaks was part of my training programme for this!! :)
In turn for me running a few miles, please help me to raise money for some of the world's poorest children. I know Islamic Relief well and, without doubt, it is an organisation full of good people, doing good work.
Children will be helped with the money raised.
Thank you for your encouragement, support and generous donation.
In peace
Imran
PS: since launching this fundraising attempt, the terrible tragedy in Pakistan has unfolded. Here (as with so many disaster zones), orphans are amongst the most vulnerable. Please help me support Islamic Relief as it gears up to help some of these orphaned children over the next few weeks , months and years.
