Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I've finally given in and agreed to take part in the North4North bike ride to raise funds for worthy causes in both Israel and England.  Myself and a group of riders, many of them also having completed similar rides in previous years, will be cycling through the Galil region of Northern Israel for five days, covering almost 300 miles and climbing some serious hills - including Mt Hermon if you can call that a hill!  The ride starts on Monday 2nd November - so it's not that far away now.

For the 2009 ride in Israel we'll be supporting the Cochav Centre, a vocational rehabilitation centre in Ma'alot.  The goal of the centre is to provide a broad support system for people with disabilities who live in the community.  In England we'll be supporting Delamere Forest School.  Delamere is able to cater for boarding pupils aged six to seventeen, and a small number of day pupils, for special needs education to develop their life skills and talents.  Both of these are very worthy and respected organisations, and they both make a genuine difference to the people and the communities that they help. They may not be well known names, but the work that they do is no less important.

Unfortunately, unlike some of my co-riders, I've not got a picture of my taking part in last year's ride - so I've put a picture of the bike that hopefully will get me to the end of the journey - we'll even be riding through Ma'alot so that we can visit the Cochav Centre.  But I've also put a picture from last year's ride showing the team handing over the well earned cheque so you can see what we'll look like later on - just imagine one of the riders is me!

I'm aiming to raise £2,500 as my contribution for this year.  I will be paying for all of my flights and accommodation so everything that you donate will go 100% to these worthy causes, it will not be funding my trip.  Please help me as much as you can, everything donated will be very much appreciated.  Thank you for taking time to read my request.
