Story

Inspired... well badgered ;) ... by the three guys who completed the 'Marathon des Sables' last year, raising an amazing amount for Maggies Centres in the process, a group of us at NCR Dundee, plus various partners and friends, have been roped into taking part in the Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike on 1st of May.

For those not aware, this consists of a 30 mile trail / off road cycle, followed by an 8, 22 or 43 mile hike, dependent on state of confusion when signing the entry form :)

Maggie's relies entirely on charitable donations, and is a fantastic organisation which has provided invaluable support to many, many people when it really is most needed.

There will be a fair number of blisters along the way, so please dig deep and donate what you can for this very deserving cause.

Thank you very much indeed.

03 May: Well, we all got through it 'relatively' unscathed :) The blisters and strains are starting to heal, and it was all worth it because of your donations. Thank you very much from the whole gang. It really means a lot to us and more importantly, to those who make use of Maggie's Centres.

the Bike n Hike Gang :)

26 April: The science of 'carb loading' was completely abused at NCR by those who supported the Maggie's Monster Cake Sale. Thanks go to all who contributed offerings and to those that snaffled them :) Thanks to Laurie Mills for cooking up the idea. Together they raised £305

19 April: An excellent evening was had at the Maggies Ball held at the Invercarse on Friday night. Very special shout for the co-organisers of this fantastic event, Lisa Macphail and Ali Dougan, a brilliant job once again from these two seasoned Maggies supporters. Thanks to the band, 'Eat the Peach' who were superb as usual, and to all who donated or hunted down raffle and auction items, and of course, to all who attended. Still tallying the final amount, but looks like we raised some serious wedge, in the region of £4,250. Amazing job! Thanks all.

29 Mar: Thanks to all who turned out to support the Quiz Night and raffle at the Aboukir Bar - Carnoustie, on Thursday. Thanks to Stuart for use of the very nice venue and supplying very tasty nibbles :) An entertaining evening was had by all, raising £230 for the cause. Well done Team Tommy.

23 Mar: A Quiz Night, plus raffle, again in support of our cause, is being held at the Aboukir Bar - Carnoustie. Thurs 25th March @ 7.30pm ...  If you have let your brain training regime slip a little, come along and put your grey matter through its paces :) Teams of 3 to 5. Cost is £2.50 per head, and you can simply pay on the night. Please contact Paul McConnell or any of the team for more info.

22 Mar: Carnoustie Musical Society buckets £550 ! Special thanks go to Jane Waddell and the CMS members who rattled buckets at their performances of ''Hello Dolly'' over the four nights. Thank You all.

15 Mar: Dee Club Race Night reigns in £550 ! A very hearty 'Thank You' to all who helped organise, and of course to those who turned up to support the event.

16 Feb: A race night in support of this cause is being organised for Fri 5th of March, at the Dee Club in Lochee. If you are interested in coming along for a bit of a chuckle, a wee flutter on the horses and a plate of stovies, please contact Paul Johnston, or any of the team for a very reasonably priced ticket :)

22 Nov: Pub Quiz and raffle at No.1 raises £700 !!! Thanks to all who supported the event on the night and to those that donated raffle prizes. A great start ! :)
