Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and for sponsoring us!

We have decided to take part in Luton Borough Council's Its a Knockout this year and raise money for the L&D's very own NICU Appeal.

It takes place on Saturday 8th May and we have to compete in lots of highly competitive, skillful games including The Slide of Doom and Ski-sy Peasy!!!

All the money raised will benefit the NICU Appeal at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital. 711 premature and sick babies were treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) last year but there are even more babies that desperately need our care.  The L&D has committed to building a new, bigger unit with more cots and better facilities for babies and their families.  The NHS has allocated £7 million towards the new build but we want to raise £1.5 million to enhance and equip the new unit.  Enhancements will include a designated breast feeding room, essential over night accommodation, a family room, rooming in rooms and counselling rooms.  Anything you can give to support the Appeal will be gratefully appreciated by all the babies, staff and parents that need the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit each day.
