June 8-14, 2014, I am walking 90 miles from Ilkley in Yorkshire to Bowness on Windermere in the Lake District, UK, with friends and supporters of SafeHands for Mothers.

90 miles in 6 days may sound like a challenge, but for many African girls and women walking long distances in search of water, fuel, school and adequate health care is their daily reality.

All the funds raised from the Dales Way Walk for Life will support SafeHands for Mothers’ mission to improve maternal and newborn health, and achieve its vision of a world where no woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth.
