Story
Hey Everyone,
I have started running regulary and absolutely love it, I decided I wanted to do a half marathon but only if I was going to do it for something that I really believed in supporting. I need to raise at least £350 for my pledge so please support me as every penny goes to a fantastic cause.
The reason why I chose GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital):
My nephew was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis when he was just a few months old in 2012. Craniosynostosis is where the fibrous sutures in an infant skull prematurely fuses by turnng into bone thereby changing the growth pattern of the skull. As a result causes abnormal head shape and doesnt provide enough space for the growing brain.
As you can imagine it was a scary and stressful time for us as a family. Tomah was referred to Great Ormond Street where he received pioneering surgery to reopen the sutures in his skull. Tomah made a brilliant recovery and is an amazing and very energetic little boy.
I visited Great Ormond Street earlier this year for one of Tomah's check ups. Great Ormond street is an amazing place brilliantly set up to take care of children and their families at a very difficult time.
Not only do they give fantastic treatment and care for the patients but they also provide vital accomadation to keep families together.
My afternoon spent at Great Ormond street really touched me, although this is a hospital enviroment I really felt like it was an inviting place to be with so much provided like activities, toys and entertainment.
Knowing that Great ormond street relies upon donations has motivated and inspired me to raise money, so it can continue providing the care and hope that is so greatly needed and appreciated.
What your money will go towards:
They money that you sponsor me with will fund five catagories;
-Redevelopment
-Research
-Medical Equipment and Capital Schemes
-Patient and Staff Welfare
-Accomadation and other.
Last year this cost them 18.9 million.
Any donations will be massively appreciated, Thank you so much for visiting my page.
Thanks again, Natalie x
