We help communities overcome crisis to move from recovery to resillience

Story

Dear Friends & Family,

The time has come for the Three Tuk-keteers to embark on a 2,500km+ journey across the Indian sub-continent on a small, noisy, uncomfortable and seldom reliable three-wheeled creature called...(drum roll)...the auto rickshaw! On 28 March 2010 your faithful trio will be one of 70 teams to set off through the perilous Indian terrain, starting from the seaport of Kochi and ending in the Himalayan state of Sikkim. Take a cursory glance at a map of India and you'll think "My big fat papadum! This is a serious adventure!"  Imagine unreliable road & weather conditions, unexpected Delhi-belly surprises, miscalculated distances and dealing with weird team member idiosyncrasies (no comment) and you've begun to taste the enormity of the challenge that awaits us...

So why you may ask have we chosen to undertake this adventure? A few reasons: we are nuts, yes, BUT we also want to mix a lil adventure with a sense of purpose. We're asking you to sponsor our journey and all the money we raise will go to MercyCorps. a fantastic organisation helping turn crisis into opportunity for millions around the world. You can learn more about MercyCorps and its activities in India specifically through the following link:  http://www.mercycorps.org.uk/2010rickshawrunproject

So come on folks, dig deep into your pockets for this fantastic cause - and remember, when will you next get to support three tuk-keteers race across an entire country on a three wheeled beast?
