This summer I am taking part in a London to Paris cycle challenge to raise money for the ACCORD hospice.  The challenge is a four day event which covers 317 miles between Kent and the finish line at the Eiffel Tower.  The longest day is 95 miles and the route takes in some tough climbs.  As a novice cyclist with relatively little training under my belt this is likely to be quite tough.  I am hoping that the added pressure of collecting for charity will help me to increase my training over the next few months!  I have paid all of the trip costs myself so all of the money donated will go straight to the hospice.

ACCORD hospice is an independent charity giving free Specialist Palliative Medical and Nursing Care and support to people whose illness is causing physical pain and emotional distress and for whom curative treatment may no longer be appropriate.  In this way the hospice provides comfort not only to patients but also to their family members.
