I'm cycling the Prudential RideLondon Surrey 100 on August 2nd for my friend's foundation which he set up with his wife in memory of their daughter Olive. You can read more about their foundation here - https://www.justgiving.com/olivemartin/ - and below is a small outtake.

Our beautiful daughter Olive was born on 7th June 2014 with a very complex heart condition, sadly too complex even for the team at Great Ormond Street Hospital to fix. Our brave little girl passed away in our arms on 22nd July 2014, only 6 weeks after she was born.

Why are we doing this? Clare and I are determined that everything we do in Olive's memory can help other sick children and their families. For this reason we have chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital – specifically we want to fund break-through heart research projects and also contribute to further advance the care of all GOSH patients and families.

This is my first distance cycle ever, and frankly I'm rather daunted by it. I've been training the past few months and believe I can go the distance, but every little bit of encouragement - i.e. donations :) - will help me go further and faster!

Do give as much as you can - every donation big or small will go to a great cause.
