Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Following on from our 2006 Thames and Wey Sponsored Row for Combat Stress. My crew of former work colleagues, friends and relatives are rowing over 110 miles, through 34 locks up and down the River Thames to raise money for the charity Combat Stress. The average age of the crew will be above the state pensionable age!
Combat Stress is the leading charity specialising in the care of British Veterans who have been profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences during their service career. Many Veterans leave the Armed Forces with debilitating conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety disorders. Their problems can remain masked for years, and they and their families may be struggling to deal with matters at home. Last year alone, Combat Stress received 1,257 new referrals - bringing the number of ex-Servicemen and women in their care to approximately 4,200.
