Event: Virgin London Marathon 2010, on 25 April 2010
We help the hospital to transform the lives of children

Story

On 25th April 2010 I will be running/staggering/crawling the London Marathon in aid of the children's charity Sparks.

The key motivation for doing this, apart from giving a temporary boost to the sales of neurofen, is that in Feb 2009, Ellen Walker, one of my co-runners daughters, was diagonosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of cancer.

She has battled through a year of intensive treatment including chemotherapy, surgery, bone marrow transplant and radiotherapy, and is currently the first child in the UK to be receiving a new treatment of immunotherapy (which itself is a result of charity funded research). Ellen has been amazingly brave and continues to fight this dreadful disease. Tragically, many children with Ellen's illness do not survive.

Through Sparks we are able to donate money directly to those affected by neuroblastoma, so any donation you can make would be massively appreciated.

I am one of a group of 12 runners of various shapes and sizes lined up for the event, the profiles of which are attached below as well as the group donation website.

Thankyou so much for your support.
