We are Versus Arthritis to defy the pain & isolation of arthritis

Story

As someone who thinks running is the most tedious (and tiring) form of exercise, I have decided to get off the sofa and do something challenging for a change, namely the Bath half marathon on Sunday March 7th 2010!

I have created this site as I am running for a charity that has been a huge support to my family over the years and needs every penny it can get.  As many of you know, rheumatoid arthritis is something that runs in the family from my late grandmother to current members of the family, so this was the obvious choice of charity.  FYI the charity raises funds to promote medical research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritic conditions; to educate medical students, doctors and allied healthcare professionals about arthritis; and provide information to the general public.

Now I know that we get many emails from people looking to raise money for charity but... this is the first time I have ever asked you to donate and it will be the first time I have ever run this far!  Believe me when I say that it is not going to be easy for me to get up to half marathon running fitness!

Please do donate whatever you can, it is all hugely appreciated, and if you fancy a weekend in Bath then do come down and laugh at the state I will be in after the race!

(Also if you want to sign up then http://www.runninghigh.co.uk/site.aspx?i=ho0 there are still places left)

Nick.
