I've supported Cancer Research UK for many years now.  Whilst I do what I can I need your help to really dig deep for a good cause.  1 in 3 people are diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime and Cancer Research UK work hard doing research to aid prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

I have known many family and friends who have had to deal with this life-changing news and have dealt with it so bravely.  As a nurse I have cared for many patients throughout their illness.  Thankfully many have survived but others have not and I need you to dig deep in your pocket and give generously to a good cause.

I'm running this marathon in memory of all those family and friends who have had to deal with all the stress and treatment that a cancer diagnosis imposed on them, especially for those who fought hard but didn't make it.  I promise you, even if I have to crawl to the finish, I will complete this run and do (almost) anything to exceed my target.
