After having our beautiful little Hallie I decided to do something to try and get back into shape. I regularly sponsor people to take part in events for fantastic worthy causes, and I decided now its my turn. I swam as a child but other than taking the odd dip in the pool have not swam any real distance since being in primary school. Both me and a friend Adele Holt,  have started from scratch building up our distances in the local pool swimming several nights a week.  We have never swam in open water before, so this is a challenge to us both. 

I wanted to raise money for a local charity and that is why I picked Jigsaw, a local children's hospice based in Cumbria. They have a wish list on their website, from items as small as flannels at £1 & quilt covers at £10, So every little really does help.
