Story

Back in October I entered the ballot for the London Marathon 2023, I never in a million years thought I would be lucky enough to get a place, but I did!!

I started training for my first ever marathon at the beginning of January, and at times it has been tough but also really enjoyable.

When it came to choosing a charity to run for, I wanted it to be somewhere that was close to my heart, so when those miles got hard (and painful) it would spur me on to dig deep and keep going.

And that's where Snoezelen comes in.............

Snoezelen provides a range of services that give people with disabilities and additional needs space to be themselves, learn, develop and discover meaning in their lives, in a warm and caring environment.

The centre is based in St. Johns and comprises of three multisensory rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, soft play area, music and arts, an onsite café and facilities for activity days and weekly children’s clubs.

We have been lucky as a family to enjoy these wonderful facilities for several years. Snoezelen has been a very important part of our lives, offering Oscar the space to be himself without any pressure or stress and for us all to enjoy family time together in a safe and friendly environment.

Our safe haven ♥
