Story
Thanks to some incredible support Nifty at Fifty+ raised the largest amount of any of the 400 competing teams, and far more than any team at last year's event. The generosity of our givers has been truly impressive, made an amazing impact on our performance, and has produced a significant sum for the charities. Thank you!
We took on the challenge of walking 100km (62.5 miles) along the South Downs within 30 hours in what is affectionately known as the Gurkha Challenge. This included a total height climbed of 2,500 metres (Ben Nevis & Snowdon = 2429m). While not a race you may have noticed that we are not in our first flush of youth but intended to show younger teams our paces!
Our sore feet, aching muscles and blisters were in aid of very good causes: the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam. The GWT helps to repay the debt of honour we owe to the brave and loyal soldiers who have served the British Army for nearly 200 years.
