On 30th June 2015 i will be having my hair shaved off in order to raise money for the incredible Great Ormond Street Hospital.

As a lot of you know my 7 month old son Oliver was admitted to Great Ormond Street to have an operation to remove an umbilical granuloma. Even though this is a fairly common easy procedure, it was still a terrifying experience to see my boy who is so small going through that at his age!

I have to say that every member of staff at Great Ormond Street made things so much easier. I was astonished by how incredible everyone was and how they have made a concious effort to make it feel as 'un-hospital' like as possible so the kids feel at ease.

We were lucky that Oliver's operation went well and that it was an issue that could be easily rectified however while there we came across numerous children with severe disabilities and illnesses and i immediately knew that i wanted to help raise money for this incredible hospital to keep going and doing what they do best for these children.

Those of you who know me know that my hair is my pride and joy and i even avoid wearing my hair up as i feel naked without it! But i wanted a challenge.. something that was a big deal for me..a kind of sacrifice in order to help those less fortunate - so with great pleasure my hair will be shaved off...gone..forever! (well for a few months until it grows back!)
