Story
Atish came to us when we received a call from an ex-pat as he'd seen a stray dog in the yard of his compound and needed our help to catch it.
We went out and caught the dog and upon doing so we discovered that the dog's tail was badly burnt - so he immediately found himself a name - Atish (meaning 'Fire')
On closer inspection we came to the conclusion that someone had sadly poured some sort of acid on his tail.
Atish has thrived at Nowzad and has been in our shelter for over 5 years.
We thought Atish's time had come when a new adopter came forward to give Atish a loving home, sadly that wasn't to be.
However, we don't want to take this chance of a lifetime away from Atish, and as the generous Nowzad Family have rallied so amazingly for him - we are still going to continue with the fundraising in the hope that a new adopter comes forwards and can offer our sweet boy the home he has longed for.

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of Nowzad Dogs, the funds collected via this Youcaring page will be allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad Dogs small animal clinic and shelter in Kabul.
The total required for a companion animal to travel to the UK is on average £5000 for a dog and £3000 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
