I am so very grateful with the wonderful cards and gifts I have been given from family, friends and colleagues for my birthday and Christmas over the years.

However I am so lucky as I have everything that I want and given what's happened in recent years, support from family, friends and colleagues is priceless compared to material possessions.  Therefore if you were considering getting me a card and/or gift for my birthday and Christmas I would rather you give a donation to a charity that is dear to my heart instead.  I do not care about the amount, however small or large, as I appreciate any help you can give.  As a suggestion, the same amount you would usually spend on a birthday and Christmas card and/or present for me, would be ideal.
