Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Eight employees at ODS-Petrodata will be pounding the pavements at the Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k race on May 23 to raise money for the ARCHIE Foundation – the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and community-based child health throughout Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.
Most of the employees running - Stuart Coull, Catherine McKay, Scott Hamilton, Genevieve Wheeler, Andy Overton, Craig Hunter, Olivier Delbouve and Graeme Nesham – are novice runners and are training hard for their first race.
All monies donated to the ARCHIE Foundation go directly towards ‘making the difference’ for children who are patients of the NHS in Grampian and the islands. Every penny donated to the ARCHIE Foundation makes a difference for local children when they need it the most. The ARCHIE Foundation relies wholly on support from the local communities of the north east of and the Northern Isles. They receive no financial support from the NHS or from the local authorities.
The ARCHIE Foundation funds numerous small and large-scale projects to help make the stay in hospital more comfortable and less frightening for children. Projects range from the redevelopment of treatment rooms to make them more child-friendly to buying specialist medical equipment and funding the provision of specialist staff such as family support workers.
