Story
Thanks for visiting this JustGiving web page.
On Easter Sunday, together with 5 friends I am setting off on a 251 mile bike ride from Holyhead to Cardiff along the Welsh Sustrans route - 'Lôn Las Cymru'. This will take us through some beautiful Welsh countryside and as everyone knows you cannot get from north to south without going over some mountains! I am not much of a cyclist - more a walker and a mountaineer. Not only should I get a bit fitter but it is also an opportunity to raise money for two very good causes:
the National Eisteddfod which Wrecsam is hosting in 2011, and
the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research.
This JustGiving page is for gathering donations to the Bobby Moore Fund which was established in 1993 to raise money for cutting edge bowel cancer reserach and to raise awareness of its high risk symptoms. I wish to do this in memory of Jonnie, a very close family friend and Rhiannon's godson, who died at the very young age of 28 in June 2008, and also my father who died of this disease aged 43. This charity helps fund excellent work to reduce the risk to others.
It would be great if you are able to support these charities by sponsoring my ride. Unfortunately, it is not possible for JustGiving to split the sponsorship between the two charities and therefore I ask you to visit both pages. The other is: http://www.justgiving.com/Osian-Eisteddfod-Wrecsam-2011
I would also like to wish you and your families a happy and peaceful Easter. I hope the weather is reasonably kind!!
Please dig deep!
Thank you
Osian
