We work throughout Wales to support people affected by epilepsy

Story

On 10 October 2010, Ceri Richards (dad), Jayne Richards (mam) and various friends, family and colleagues will be doing a sponsored walk from Heath Hospital, Cardiff to Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, a journey of around 25 miles. Some will do the whole journey whilst others will do what they can. Naturally, Owain will do the last half a mile or so and will be the first to finish!

We aim to raise as much money as possible for Epilepsy Wales, the charity for epilepsy sufferers, their carers and families in Wales. Recently, our four year old son, Owain, was diagnosed with benign epilepsy. Although this is one of the milder strains of epilepsy, there are young children, teenagers and adults with far more severe cases. The trip has been planned to coincide with Owain's place of birth (Heath Hospital) and where he is being treated after having his seizures (Prince Charles Hospital).

All contributions, large or small, are gratefully received. PLEASE TICK THE GIFT AID BOX. Many thanks. Diolch yn fawr.

* The walk took place on Sunday 10th October. We left Heath Hospital. Cardiff at 8am and walked the 27.1 miles to Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr, arriving at 6.45pm. Thank you very much to each of the 26 people who gave up their Sunday to take part. It was an unforgettable day, with plenty of blisters, sore ankles and knees acting as souvenirs for the next few days. If you'd still like to donate, please do. Ten and a half hours' worth of walking in warm weather deserves a few quid for a worthy charity!  Diolch/Thanks.
