Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In the TumbleUp4Life I'll be uniting with other cyclists to raise funds for cancer research and care courtesy of Cancer Research UK. Visit www.cancerresearchuk.org to see the great work they do.
We're undertaking an uphill battle of our own: The struggle to climb and conquer the Iron mountain ("The Tumble") as many times as possible in a single day. We'll symbolise the on-going fight of cancer patients, carers and researchers.
On April 30th 2016 the Tumble near Abergavenny will host this challenge. The climb starts in Llanfoist at 54 m altitude. The top is reached after 6 km, at the altitude of 512 m. UK cycling rarely gets tougher than this. If I manage 10 ascents through the day (my aim) the climbing puts the elevation gain on a par with some of the toughest mountain stages of the Tour de France. As you probably know I like a "cheeky climb". However even by my standards this much ascending in a day is well in to uncharted territory.
Thanks for giving what you can. I'll be doing the same on The Tumble!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
Many thanks. Cheers,
Paul
