A little about me

Many moons ago when I was training to be a social worker I had decided to do some volunteer work in another part of the world: a place where my skills and experience could make at least a bit of a difference to the lives of children and adults less fortunate. Well it has taken me 17 years to get there and here I am getting ready to fly out to () in south of , a place I never new existed. As you can see the agency that has given me the opportunity is VSO (volunteer service overseas), and I am delighted to have accepted the role of “Organisation Development and Project Management Adviser”, to Disability Programme. My role will involve building the capacity of organisations and people with disabilities in . I will be working for, The National Commission on Disability, based in itself. By trade I am a Social Worker and a Counsellor with lots of experience in the field of social care and I hope that my work in will support many national and local projects that are already providing amazing services to children and adults with disabilities.

Having thought about doing this for such along time I am hoping to have an amazing and fulfilling experience in return. Given that VSO is a voluntary agency I am looking to raise some funds to support the wonderful and exciting work the agency does and would be grateful if you would be so kind as to make a donation.
