In support of the PCA Benevolent Fund, the PCA staff are putting themselves through a summer of hard graft, blood sweat and tears...
It all kicks off on 10 July, when Ian Smith will compete in the Extreme5 Quadrathlon (1 mile swim, 10km kayak, 40km cycle and 10km run) followed, on 30 July, by a PCA Team of Louise Michael, Eleanor Bowe and Ian Smith doing the London Triathlon, competing against a team from the Rugby Players Association. Finally, on 21 August, Ian Smith and Jason Ratcliffe will tackle the 60 mile Blenheim Palace cycle over the alpine climbs and descents of Oxfordshire. A worthy combination of endurance challenges to which all other PCA staff will contribute by cheerleading, passing comments, giving advice, pointing and laughing and generally being “helpful”.
We need your support! For the past few months Team PCA have been training to complete these events and avoid embarrassment, defeat, failure and possibly death...
All proceeds will go to the PCA and RPA Benevolent Funds who, together, make huge contributions to the lives of past and present cricket and rugby players when they or their loved ones fall on hard times. For more details on the Benevolent Fund see http://www.thepca.co.uk/benevolent_fund.html
