Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 16th March 2022 Pani was devastatingly diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and very aggressive cancer of the bile duct. He was told it was stage 4 and the prognosis was 3 months without chemo or if the chemo was successful he could have 18 months. He  managed a round and a half of chemotherapy before having to stop due to infection and complications caused by the cancer. On the 28th May 2022, Only 10 and a half weeks after diagnosis our amazing Daddy & husband lost his battle and passed peacefully surrounded by his family. This type of cancer is fast and aggressive and it’s almost impossible to detect early. We are raising money in Pani’s name for AMMF the UK’s only Cholangiocarcinoma charity. One of AMMF’s major objectives is to support specialised research teams in their work to find the cause, methods of earlier diagnosis and effective treatments for Cholangiocarcinoma. Since it’s inception in 2002, AMMF has now awarded over £2m (two million pounds sterling) in grants to support Cholangiocarcinoma research at many of the UK’s leading research institutions, and internationally.
