Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the 2010 London Marathon. In an effort to achieve near physical perfection (ha ha) for the big day in April I’ve been training at least four times a week times braving wind, rain, frost, snow, drought and the occasional irate cyclist (who I’ve discovered don’t appreciate me running in their cycle lanes).
The good news is that the training is finally starting to pay off and despite at times feeling like my legs were about to fall off I’m actually beginning to think I’ll finish. I'm now almost set for the big day. I've completed my last big 20 mile training run and despite struggling badly in the final mile I'm still feeling confident. I now only have three weeks of shorter (up to 12 mile...arrhh) runs to get me prepared for the 26.2 miles of excruciating agony (sorry I meant fun and exhilaration).
As much as I’m looking forward to the big day it’s not actually about me; it’s about fundraising for many, many good causes. The good cause I’ve chosen to represent is London Youth. This is charity supports a network of over 400 community organisations and dedicated to helping the young people of London be the best they can be and focuses particularly on helping disadvantaged and at-risk young people.
