Story
Sunday 25th April 2010. The London Marathon. 26.5 miles.
Which seems like a really long way frankly. But here's the deal:
I'll run them. All of them.
You give me a load of money.
Or more specifically give Oxfam a load of money.
And they'll use it to do brilliant things to make the world a better place. Like saving lives and developing projects that put poor people in charge of their lives and livelihoods, to campaigning for change that lasts.
Simple really. No money, no running, no brilliant things and the world won't be a better place. Boo.
If you want to supplement your munificence with helpful advice like nice things to think about while I'm spending all miserable winter training in the rain and snow, or techniques to avoid sitting in the road crying, or cunning tricks to induce going for a run when I could be having a nice long lie in then thats appreciated as well. But that's as well as the money. Not instead.
Wish me well. Oh and if you're so inclined you can read about how miserable all the training is here: http://senseofplace.typepad.com/longmayyourun/
