Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
From 13-17 June I cycled from London's Olympic Park to my home in Edinburgh in just 5 days. That’s around 100 miles a day, on average. It was exhausting and magnificent - moments of agony and ecstasy. I’d never attempted anything remotely on this scale before and it was a fairly daunting challenge! On the way I took a quick detour to participate in the 23-mile Warriors-at-the-Water event, cycling around Rutland Water, on Sunday 14 June. With your help and generosity I'm raising a significant amount of money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). All funds raised go towards researching a cure for the disease and to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Earlier this year I discovered that a good friend has been diagnosed with MND, so this is a cause that's close to my heart and I was inspired to devise and take on this challenge, as my way of fighting back against MND.
MND is a progressive, terminal disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. MND will come to affect how people walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
Please help me raise as much money as possible to fight back against this horrible disease. Knowing that I have your support and that together we are raising funds to help those suffering with MND has helped keep me going when my legs have been very weary and my backside painful!
Thank you!
Paul
50% of funds raised will go to Research, 50% to support people living with MND (30% Lincolnshire Group, 10% Cambridgeshire, 10% Rutland and Leicestershire)
