Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those that don't know me, my name is Paul Weekes, I'm 29 and despite currently residing in Essex, I was born in Ipswich, and have spent a majority of my life living in Suffolk.

At the start of last year, my father, Alan, was admitted into Ipswich hospital with stomach pains. It was diagnosed as gall stones, but his condition deteriorated, and he developed acute pancreatitis. His condition continued to worsen to the extent that he was admitted into the critical care unit at Ipswich Hospital. Many months and many operations later, he was finally well enough to be allowed home.

His recovery was due to many factors, but I firmly believe that a major part was due to the endless care and attention that was given to him by the amazing staff on the critical care unit.
We, as a family, have said our thanks to the staff for everything they did, but I have decided to try and raise money for them , so that they can continue to do the amazing job that they do, and continue to save lives.

I will, at the start of September be cycling from London to Paris. The ride itself will take 4 days:

Day 1 - London to Calais (86 Miles).
Day 2 - Calais to Arras (95 Miles).
Day 3 - Arras to Compiegne (80 miles).
Day 4 - Compiegne to Paris (57 miles).

I'm sure you can appreciate the difficulty in achieving this, and it is most definitely an extreme challenge for me!

But it is the least I can do to raise money for the amazing staff, and the superb job that they do, on Ipswich Hospitals critical care unit.

Many thanks for reading this, and please, give any money that you can. Every penny will make a difference.
