We train specialist assitance dogs to combat autism, epilepsy and disability

Story

When I learned about the amazing impact a support dog can have on the life of someone with Epilepsy, Autism or Disability  I was blown away.

Did you know that a dog can provide its owner with a 100% reliable warning of an oncoming epilepsy seizure up to 50 minutes in advance!  No.  Neither did I.  But how amazing is that and what a difference it can make.

Support Dogs is the only organisation in the UK that provide and train seizure alert dogs

Each dog takes up to two years to train, at a cost of £23,000, and then costs £2,500 per year to care for a working Support Dog

I'm aiming to raise enough money to pay for one dog for a year.

The most Northerly Support Dog lives in Dundee and the most Southerly in Portsmouth.  By the end of 2022 I'm aiming to row (on my indoor rowing machine!) from one to the other, which will be a meandering journey of almost 900 KM (over 560 miles).

My daily row of 18 minutes (roughly the same length of time as the Boat Race!) covers just over 4KM meaning that I'll need to complete over 220 individual rowing sessions this year!

Please dig deep and help me to reach my goal and continue the amazing work Support Dogs do,  Thank you.
