Story

Update 26/04/10: Tough but wonderful day yesterday; I managed to complete the race in 3hs 37mins 53secs which was way ahead of my expectations (and 'stretch target' of 3hrs 45mins). Anyway, for those of you that have donated and those who provided messages of support and encouragement, a huge thank you to you all.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been fortunate (though some people may question that!) in being accepted for this year's London Marathon through the public ballot. However, I intend to run for The Prostate Cancer Charity, an organisation that provides research, education and support relating to prostate cancer. As a ballot entry, I do not need to raise any particular amount, but would be most grateful for donations to this excellent charity. I am looking for people to donate £10, and certainly no more than £20, in the hope that it will encourage more people to provide support.

My aim in the race is to beat my 2007 London Marathon time of 3hrs 54 mins (and 39 seconds!), which was in very hot conditions, so I believe is an achievable target. Also, I intend to train hard to 'make it happen' (hmm, that phrase sounds familiar).

If you do feel that you would like to donate, please can you acknowledge that you would like Gift Aid reclaimed if you are a UK taxpayer.

Very best wishes,

Paul
