Once Upon a Time....don't all stories with happy endings start that way? Well then, so shall ours.

Once upon a time there was a young boy named George. George was happy, mischievous and bright, as all little boys are. Until one day when he seemed to shine a little less brightly. It was then that we learned that George was sick.

Like all children battling for their lives, George fought and fought hard. Never losing his sense of adventure, joy and life - George battled, and won!

It was during this time that I realized who the true heroes of our world are: the littlest ones who are dealt the most challenging hurdles and who overcome them with laughter, joy and love. With the support of a loving family, caring friends and the skilled team at GOSH, George, like so many others, will be able to live a full life and carry on with his mischievous smile, infectious laughter and hopeful heart.

In the best way I know how, I am choosing to support the great work of Great Ormond Street Hospital through pushing myself to my own physical limit by cycling 1200 miles in 46 days during Lent. I'm raising funds for them so that they can continue to save lives and offer hope to the thousands of heroes who come to them each year.

A 'marathon' a day of cycling is my gift to these little heroes. As they battle, I will cycle each mile for them, raising awareness and hope for a brighter future. Their future. Please join me in supporting this worthy cause, whether you are able to donate or offer moral support, I thank you. It will be a long 1200 miles, and I know I will face hurdles of my own.
