<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">I never ever thought i would be doing this, but I am running, yes running the Sheffield half marathon on May 27th this year.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">The run itself is 20 kilometers, approx 13 miles, through the streets of sheffield, and will be a massive personal achievement for me. Those of you who have known me for some time will know that I havent ever been classed as an "athlete" and hardly had the physique to run 20,000 meters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">However, with the help and encouragement of some friends and family, last year I decided to change my life forever and went on a very strict diet and exercise regime, helping me lose almost 5 stone and get fit for the first time in my life!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">So, along with this, and my stubborn determination, i have entered myself into the Sheffield half marathon which will be my first ever run of any distance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">I am training 6 times a week very hard both inside the gym and road running and slowly building up to the 20k mark. the most I have ran so far is 14 kilometres, and have managed 10KM in under 55 minutes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">I aim to complete the run in under 2 hours, which will be a very hard task to do but i dont simply want to turn up and stroll round, im going to run every step of the way and finish this race in under 2 hours!!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Arial;">I have decided to run this for charity and i have chosen a local charity called Ashgate Hospice, some may have heard of this, others maybe not, but this is a local independent charity in Chesterfield which provides vital care to people who have life limiting illnesses and try and make life as comfortable as possible for them</span></p>

<p>Thank you everyone who has donated so far!!! Training has been really hard, now running the streets of chesterfield slowly getting my time down and increasing my distance. Also varying the training with spinning at the gym and have also include a 2 mountain peak treck, climing hellvellyn in cumbrai which was hard but fantastic.</p>
<p>It is now just 12 weeks to go and my self imposed boot camp has come into play for the entire month of march. This involves strict protein diet, 4 outdoor runs a week, 2 personal gym training sessions a week, 2 spinning sessions a week and 1 endurance sprint on the treadmill. My target for march is to run the 20 km distance and then slowly bring my time down.</p>
<p>Current personal best for 10KM is just over 53 minutes and looking to get this to 50 minutes, at the same time increasing the distance i can run!!!</p>
