Story
Brown Dog is a registered charity (named after the founders’ brown dog Labrador!) raising money to purchase vital equipment or infrastructure to improve the detection or treatment of cancer (and improve patient care) to subsequently save or extend life.
Each year, the Brown Dog Charity organises a challenge event that not only provides vital fundraising but also the opportunity for people to take on enjoyable and challenging experiences. Past challenges have included scaling mountains, coast-to-coast cycles, canoe challenges and 24-hour coastal walks.
All 2023 proceeds will enable Brown Dog to purchase

The Brown Dog’s 2023 Challenge: The Great Ridge separates the vales of Edale and Castleton in Derbyshire. We start at Ladybower Reservoir, walking along the Derwent River to Hope Valley and into Castleton, where we then climb Cave Dale and up Mam Tor, crossing the Great Ridge, into Hope and over Win Hill onto Toadhole Cote and Alport Castles before heading back to Ladybower.
Followed by the traditional annual Dogs Dinner, a 3-course silver service meal.
