Story

This event, whilst an incredible and once-in-a-lifetime adventure, has a secondary purpose; to raise funds and awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity.

My father got involved with the charity (then The Samantha Dickson Research Trust) after he was diagnosed with a primary brain tumour because of the charity's research into the cause of the disease, as well as all the personal support given to all those, young and old, fighting the cancer.

One of his main passions was classic cars and had recently taken part in two rallies crossing two continents; the Inca Trail and the London-to-Peking in 2000. His passion for life lives on and so in his memory, my mother and I will be competing in the 2016 Peking-to-Paris in his 1967 Mercedes 250SL.

The race starts in Peking on 12th June and finishes in Paris on July 17th having taken us through China, Mongolia, Russia, Belarus and on into mainland Europe to Paris. The link below gives the blog which we will be updating so you can find out how we are getting on and if we are likely to make it to the finish line...

All our costs for the rally are obviously being met by us and every single penny donated goes directly to furthering research into the cause of this ghastly cancer.

Please, give what you can for this wonderful charity. It truly means everything.

Thank you all -

Nicky and Isabelle xx
