Story
Thanks for taking the trouble to have a glance at my page. It's dedicated to my effort to summit the roof of Africa via the Lemosho route in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign, following in the footsteps celeb's that triumphed during the Red Nose climb from last year. This has long been an ambition of mine to complete this climb and finally, I plucked up the conviction to take the plunge. Through this challenge, I hope to raise loads of much needed funding for my charity. A side challenge to get myself into better shape than I am currently in is also a personal target. More details about the charity and it's fantastic work and how the money raised will be put to use can be found at the charity's webpages at www.breastcancercampaign.org
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
March '10 update. Training is underway in earnest. Clocking up loads of miles on foot and on the cycle. Using muscles I'd forgot all about :) Started some hill work, every other weekend spent in Snowdonia stomping up and down mountains. WIcked results from the scales, a loss of 2 and a half stone since I started the exercise regime.
UPDATE June!!! 4 stone lost in total, completely new shape Pete. Training is going fabulously well and Im receiving lots of pledges of donations. 3 Months to go and it time to push things along a bit now, please do dig deep into the pockets.
To the very generous Aussie ladies I met at the peak of Snowdon, an extra apecial thank you.
September '10 Update
Massive thank you to all the guys at the Blue Tiffin restaurant in Meir for allowing me to hold a fundraising evening there. With an evening of curry and raffles they raised £310 which is just awesome.
It's getting awfully close to departure day now, the training, whilst hard, has helped me to lose 5 stone overall since booking the trip at Christmas. A huge lifestyle change has occurred and for that I'm thankful. One downer is having no good clobber to wear anymore but I'll take that problem any day of the week.
