Story
In June 2015 I took part in Cycle Tanzania, raising over £6,000 for Transaid. It was a significant journey in my life, and one which took me all the way to a personal meeting with Transaid's patron HRH The Princess Royal. Please follow this link - www.transaid.org/updates/peters-incredible-speech - to read the presentation I made to HRH and other guests invited to Transaid's Royal Showcase in November 2015 to see what the ride and my other engagements with Transaid mean to me.
In 2017, I shall be embarking on another cycling challenge on behalf of Transaid, this time over 450km from the little Karoo valley, through the deserts and mountains of South Africa, and finishing at Cape Alguhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. The ride will be mainly off-road and includes over 4km of climbing.
Please support my challenge to raise £7,000 for Transaid. I am an ambassador for this charity, as I believe strongly in its work. Transaid is an international development charity that identifies, champions, implements and shares local transport solutions which improve access to basic services and economic opportunity for poor people in developing countries.
Please check this page regularly for updates on training and fundraising. As in Tanzania, I shall endeavour to run a daily blog during the challenge. I gained many online 'fans' during my last ride, so I hope to keep them fed with news about myself and my fellow challengers over the course of the South Africa adventure.
