Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In April 2017, myself and 5 others from the University of Bristol are running the 2017 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for Cardiovascular Research at the University of Bristol.

I have run a couple of 10k's, but this is the biggest physical challenge that I would have ever undertaken. So please support me and more importantly the great Cardiovascular Research that is going on at the University of Bristol.

We'll be running to support researchers who are the top of their field: they pioneered off-pump coronary artery by-pass surgery, they pioneered the use of stem cells to regenerate defective cardiac and casual tissues, they’ve developed the world’s first analogue pacemaker that mimics the natural rhythm of the heart, and they may have just developed the first new high blood pressure medicine for 20 years.

For more information, please head to: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cardiovascular/research/

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

Your support gives students facing financial barriers the chance to make the most their time at Bristol, equipping them to push boundaries and create a better world for us all. It also enables research into urgent issues like: the climate crisis, deadly pathogens and living with AI technologies.
