Story
Phi partners’ Des Stockdale, Kabs Acheampong and Rob Kearney are currently in training for the Flora London Marathon. Twice a week they can be found in the gym honing their fitness for the challenge. Des and Rob are marathon veterans but it will be the first time that Kabs has attempted the 26 mile test of endurance. At weekends the three have been running between 10 and 12 miles to increase their stamina before the big race. Their preparatory runs will be extended to 22 miles over the coming weeks and by the end of their training Des, Kabs and Rob will have clocked up more than 400 miles each!
The London Marathon will take place on 22nd April 2007, starting at Blackheath Common and Greenwich Park and finishing at the Mall. The Phi runners will be wearing Phi Partners vests so that their supporters can spot them amongst the other 46,500 runners entering the race this year.
The Phi Partners marathon challenge will raise money for Children in Crisis. The team is currently fund raising through a range of initiatives including sponsorship.
