Story
During the first week in August I will be walking the 102 mile Cotswold Way which will take me from Chipping Campden to Bath. My aim is to complete the route in 7 days.
I am doing this walk in honour of a very special little girl, Eleanor Brinkley. Eleanor is just a eighteen months old but has already had to endure many hospital visits, painful treatments and continual medication which makes her very uncomfortable. Eleanor was diagnosed with liver disease at just 3 months old.
I have been priviledged to get to know Eleanor by working with her Mum, Claire. Claire and Pete have been supported by the charity Children's Liver Disease Foundation since the diagnosis and have been very proactive in raising awareness and money for them.
- At least two children are diagnosed with a liver disease every day in the UK.
- More children in the UK are currently diagnosed with a liver disease than childhood leukaemia
- For most childhood liver disease there is no cure.
- CLDF (Children's Liver Disease Foundation) is the only organisation in the UK dedicated to stamping out childhood liver disease.
Funding research enables CLDF to offer hope of a brighter future for children with liver disease and their families. Since 1980, and thanks largely to work funded by CLDF, there have been enormous advancements in knowledge and treatment. CLDF is dedicated to ensuring that this continues.
To make a real difference CLDFneed to provide a minimum of £1 million every year.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please help me make a difference to so many children's lives and of course Eleanor's.
