On Sunday 17th October I completed the inaugural Kielder Marathon - 26.3 miles with a 4,000m ascent and I would really like to thank everyone who so generously sponsored me. It is the most difficult thing that I have ever done and I have been completely overwhelmed by everyones generosity and support in helping me to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association.
David Elliot a friend of mine who is just 17 years old and a fellow tetrathlete was sadly paralysed on Christmas Eve 2009. He was sledging with his family on Skiddaw when he slid on ice and a hit a small tree. He broke his neck in two places and severed his spinal cord. He spent 5 months in the Spinal Injuries Centre at the James Cook University hospital in Middlesborough and he is paralysed from the chest down and is confinded to a wheel chair. A member of the SIA visited David weekly and was very inspriational both to him and the family. My aim is to raise money to help both David and people like David over come their injuries and live the life they should and if there's something I can do then I will. So please help me raise money and help make a difference.
Thank you.
