Story

I'll be running the London Marathon this year to raise money for the Sick Children's Trust. Often, seriously ill children can only receive life-saving medical treatment at hospitals far away from their family homes. SCT provides support through their 'Homes from home', enabling families to stay with their children during the treatment. These homes cost around £1 million per year to create, staff and maintain. You can read more about SCT's good work at http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org

I've been raising money for SCT over the past few years (including running a previous marathon and a 900km cycle trek across Laos) and have raised enough money to provide support and accommodation for a family or families with a child receiving treatment in a 'Home from home" for nearly a full year, so has gone a long way already and would be great to see this continue into 2010.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Your support is much appreciated,

Priyen

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
