Story
Crawathlon
- 1st December 2009 at K2 in Crawley.
- team event with 10 'athletes' participating in one leg of a triathlon which includes 13.1m run, 1.2m swim and 28 mile cycle.
- raising money for Sussex Giving (www.sussexgiving.org.uk) which supports a wide range of charities in the local area. Specifically our fund raising will be put towards the following four organisations:
Olive Tree Cancer Support
Opened in January 2004 on grounds of Crawley Hospital to offer support to cancer patients and their carers and families
Crawley & East Grinstead Parkinson’s Disease Society
Provide support and advice to sufferers and families; they particularly wish to provide special exercise classes at Crawley hospital for PD sufferers
Outreach 3 Way
Aim to support people with Learning Disabilies ; based in Ifield; help people gain the confidence and skills they need to work and generally to enjoy their lives through day and residential care centres.
Crawley Open House
Work with and cares for men, women or couples who are homeless or suffering from the effects of homelessness, unemployment etc; they specialise in working with people that other statutory and voluntary agencies turn away.
This should be a fantastic event, with our 'athletes' training very hard over the last couple of months. Please help us to support these local organisations.
