Story
After successfully completing the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Challenge rides in the Alps (twice) and Pyrenees, we have decided to participate again this year in the ride through the Pyrenees again to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind. We will be riding from Perpignan over several of the mountain passes made famous in previous Tours de France - including Port de Pailheres, Plateau de Bonascre, and the Cols of Agnes, Portillon, Superbagners, Peyresourde, Aspin and Tourmalet - and finish with a climb up to Hautacam.
The week long physical challenge we are undertaking pales in comparison to the challenges faced every day by blind and partially sighted people. Your challenge is to support us by donating generously to the Guide Dogs for the Blind. The work of Guide Dogs for The Blind enables them to help the blind and partially sighted people overcome challenges far greater than most of us will ever face.
Because my employer, TSF Europe/Asia, has again generously agreed to donate an amount that will cover my costs and provide the minimum donation to enable me to ride, your donation will enable Gail to ride and directly benefit Guide Dogs for the Blind in their work. Over the last three years more than two-thirds of the amount donated went directly to the work of the Charity. This year should be no different. Your donation will be very much appreciated by everyone concerned.
Many thanks for your support,
Mac and Gail
PS Our ride is actually from 27 August to 2 September
