Story

Dear family & friends,

Praying you are all well.

By the grace of God, I hope to travel to Iraq this coming December for the Arba'een commemoration, an event which has been recorded as the largest peaceful human gathering in history.

A significant component of this trip will be walking 80km (3 days) from Najaf to Karbala. Every year, millions of pilgrims embark upon this peaceful walk in display of their love and allegiance to Imam Husayn (as) (grandson of Prophet Muhammad sawa) and the lofty principles and virtues he stood and died for.

As we walk in the day, the scorching dessert sun will be bearing down upon us, and as we rest by night in makeshift tents, the blistering cold will take over as temperatures rapidly plummet below 4'C.

We will however take solace in the fact that we will be providing much needed electricity to families in some of the most poverty stricken areas in Iraq.

The lack of electricity is currently causing families to inhale toxic diesel fumes, suffer burns due to naked flames and a whole host of related issues. By embarking upon this walk and raising money for these families, we hope to alleviate this suffering by providing solar energy for 4000 households

We are working in collaboration with UK based charity, The Lady Fatemah Trust (Reg. 1072270) who operate on a 0% administration cost, thus all your donations will go directly towards the project.

Should you consider this a worthy cause; I would highly appreciate your kind assistance. Any donation, however small, will go a long way.
