Fundraiser towards treatment for Jax

Fundraising for RSPCA Cambridge and District Branch
£200

Jax was signed over to us because his owner couldn't afford the ongoing treatment he needs. He will require allergy medication for the rest of his life, but his immediate need is for an operation for his painfully infected ears which will cost £800

Story

Jax the bulldog was signed over to RSPCA Cambridge for rehoming because his owner realised he would not be able to provide the longterm care that Jax needs. Before Jax can be put up for rehoming he will need two operations to treat his infected ears at a total cost to the charity of £800

If the appeal raises more than the £800 estimated costs of his operations we will use the extra to fund veterinary treatment costs of other animals that are in our care.

Update from Jax's foster carers 13/02/2021

"Update about Jax - he's on antibiotics and paracetamol now (As well
as the steroids). He started eating food the next day after the vet
visit and stopped shaking.

The vets gave us a soft cone for him but it has to go over his head to be put on and that irritates his ears.

The infection has spread to the outside of the ear and his ear keeps oozing pus and blood constantly for 3 days now and he tries to scratch/shake it off.  We clean it out with a salt solution and more recently - Hibiscrub with cotton wool. The antibiotics will take a while to kick in, they said they might prescribe a dose for another week. In the meantime we are trying to take care of his ear as much as we can.

He stops trying to scratch it if he's with us, so got a waterproof mattress protector so that he can stay with us overnight.
His first surgery is scheduled to be on the 22nd February.
